Many rural teachers in Indonesia dedicate their lives to educating children despite receiving little or no compensation for their service. Some live with disabilities, while others struggle to meet their own basic needs as they continue teaching in underserved communities. This project provides living stipends, food assistance, teaching equipment, clothing, and transportation support to help vulnerable teachers sustain their livelihoods and continue making a lasting impact on future generations.
Across rural Indonesia, many dedicated teachers continue serving their communities despite living in poverty. One of them is Usman, a teacher with a disability from North Lombok who has spent more than 20 years teaching children and supporting educational activities in remote areas. Despite physical limitations and limited income, he remains committed to helping others. Like many rural educators, he struggles to meet his daily needs while continuing to provide valuable learning opportunity.
This project provides monthly living stipends, nutritious food packages, teaching equipment, clothing, and transportation support for teachers facing financial hardship. By helping meet their essential needs, the project reduces the burden they face and enables them to continue educating children and serving their communities with greater stability and dignity.
Supporting vulnerable rural teachers helps strengthen access to education in underserved communities. With improved financial security and access to essential resources, teachers can continue their important work without sacrificing their own well-being. Over time, this project helps improve educational opportunities for children while ensuring dedicated educators receive the support and recognition they deserve.
