This project aims to support wheelchair basketball players in Egypt by providing training, equipments, and community support. Sports have the power to change lives, giving athletes confidence, independence, and opportunities to grow. Through basketball, players also learn values such as patience, teamwork, and respect. Beyond the individual impact, sports contribute to the growth of Egypt, strengthening social inclusion, national pride, and community development.
Wheelchair basketball in Egypt faces many challenges. Like the high cost of sports wheelchairs, since each one must be made to fit the player. There are also few trained coaches and not enough accessible courts for practice. Awareness about athletes with disabilities is still low, so the sport doesn't get much support. Finally, players have very limited chances to join tournaments, which makes it hard for them to gain experience and represent Egypt.
The Foundation will support wheelchair basketball in Egypt by providing customized sports wheelchairs, launching training programs with professional coaches, and running awareness campaigns to promote inclusion. It will also organize local tournaments to give players more opportunities to compete and prepare for international participation.
This project will empower people with disabilities by providing them the opportunity to show their talents and abilities. Beyond sports, the initiative will help build a more inclusive society that values equality and social justice, breaking down stereotypes and barriers faced by people with disabilities. Most importantly, it will create sustainable opportunities for future generations of wheelchair basketball players, ensuring that the impact of this effort continues for years to come.
