Support Wheelchair Basketball Players in Egypt

This project supports wheelchair basketball players in Egypt through training, equipment, and community support. Sport empowers athletes with confidence, independence, and life skills such as teamwork and respect, while promoting social inclusion, national pride, and community development.

Alhassan Foundation is proud to present the inspiring story of Mustafa Mohamed, who became the first player from the Alhassan Foundation Academy to earn the opportunity to play professionally outside Egypt, achieving a groundbreaking milestone for both his career and the foundation’s mission.

Mustafa, 24 years old began his wheelchair basketball journey in 2019, the same year Alhassan Foundation established its wheelchair basketball team. From the beginning, his commitment and passion were clear, and his performance improved consistently year after year.

Despite being a junior player, Mustafa earned the opportunity to travel and compete with the senior national team, an experience that played a pivotal role in shaping his confidence and ambition. This milestone encouraged him to pursue a professional career in wheelchair basketball.

With the encouragement of his family—especially his mother, who was the first to guide him toward sports—and through the continuous support of Alhassan Foundation, Mustafa was provided with specialized wheelchairs, training courts, and a complete support system that enabled his athletic and personal development.

Today, Alhassan Foundation proudly celebrates a major milestone in Mustafa’s journey: he is now playing professionally in Dubai with Khor Fakkan Club, representing a new chapter of international achievement and professional growth.

Throughout this journey, Mustafa has transformed from a young athlete facing physical challenges into a professional player capable of competing at the highest levels. His dedication continues to drive him toward becoming one of the leading wheelchair basketball players in the United Arab Emirates and the Middle East, with future aspirations to compete professionally in Europe.

Beyond individual success, Mustafa carries a greater dream—to see the Egyptian Wheelchair Basketball National Team represent Egypt at the Paralympic Games, compete in the World Cup, and win the African Championship. At club level, he remains a committed team player who considers his teammates brothers, bonded by friendship, shared challenges, and a strong team spirit.

Alhassan Foundation believes that Mustafa’s journey delivers a powerful message: disability is not a limitation of the body, but of the mind. His story stands as living proof of what can be achieved when opportunity meets determination.
