Last september, the Self-Sustainable Agricultural School of Belén, located in Concepción and operated by Fundación Paraguaya, celebrated the graduation of a new class of young rural entrepreneurs.
These students completed an intensive, hands-on educational program based on the model of “learning by doing, selling, and earning,” internationally recognized for preparing youth with real-life skills. Through this approach, students gained practical knowledge in agriculture, entrepreneurship, and income generation—tools they can immediately apply in their communities.
As part of their graduation process, each student presented a productive business plan focused on rural development and sustainable income. With the support of seed capital, graduates launched projects such as seedling production, poultry and egg farming, cassava cultivation, and pig raising... initiatives that are already contributing to local economies and family livelihoods.
Beyond entrepreneurship, many graduates shared their aspirations to continue studying careers such as Agronomy, Forestry Engineering, and Medicine, showing how this education opens doors and expands opportunities for rural youth.
This milestone reflects Fundación Paraguaya’s commitment to empowering young people through education and entrepreneurship as a pathway out of poverty.
Thank you to our GlobalGiving donors for making this possible. Your support is helping rural youth build dignified futures, and we look forward to celebrating many more graduates in the years ahead.
