At Instituto Belén, every new skill represents an opportunity for a brighter future. Thanks to the generous support of our donors, Fundación Paraguaya continues to empower young people and adults in Concepción, Paraguay, through practical technical education. During the first semester of 2026, 162 students successfully completed 163 course graduations across seven technical training programs, including computer skills, mobile phone repair, electricity, refrigeration, forestry management, and industrial safety. On July 9, we celebrated their achievements at a graduation ceremony attended by families, teachers, and community members—a meaningful moment recognizing their dedication and determination.
Beyond graduation, we are committed to understanding how education transforms lives. This year, Instituto Belén launched a new Graduate Follow-Up System to track employment, entrepreneurship, and continued education. Our first survey received responses from 79 graduates from the 2025 and 2026 cohorts, revealing encouraging results: 74.7% were employed or running businesses, 69.8% of working respondents held jobs fully or partially related to their training, and 93.7% reported greater self-confidence. Additionally, 97.5% said they would recommend Instituto Belén to others. These findings highlight the value of accessible technical education while helping us identify opportunities to strengthen practical training and employment connections.
We are also creating new pathways for graduates to turn their skills into sustainable livelihoods. Instituto Belén introduced access to loans of up to 2 million Paraguayan guaraníes, complemented by training in business planning and responsible borrowing. Meanwhile, our second-semester training opportunities expanded to eight courses, including agricultural machinery operation using a simulator, drone technology, and workplace biosafety. Investments in equipment, including a machinery simulator, two drones, and computers, are helping students gain hands-on experience aligned with the needs of local industries.
Your support is helping build more than technical skills, it is helping people develop confidence, pursue meaningful work, and imagine new possibilities for their futures. As we continue improving our programs, strengthening partnerships with employers, and supporting graduates beyond the classroom, we remain deeply grateful to everyone who believes in the transformative power of education. Together, we are opening doors to opportunity for individuals, families, and communities in Paraguay.
