In rural Concepcion, many youth face a future with few job opportunities and few skills. This year, Fundacion Paraguaya is organizing a new Sustainable Training Institute that will carry out 10 short courses for about 250 students. With practical training in agroindustry, tech, and services, plus soft skills that will introduce leadership and values, helping youth build dignified livelihoods, breaking cycles of poverty and revitalizing communities.
Too many young people leave school without labour skills needed to secure new jobs. Training options are outdated or too far away. Most youth face migration or informal, unstable jobs. Local businesses struggle to find qualified staff. This keeps families stuck in poverty and prevents Concepcion from growing. One woman enrolled in IT shared she had never touched a computer in 50 years. She is one of many others.
The Institute designs flexible short courses based on real labour market demand. A market study engaged 45 companies and 120 local youth. Courses include food safety, forestry, tech tools, sales, electrical repair, mobile phone repair, logistics, plumbing, restaurant service, and A/C maintenance. All courses integrate leadership, values, and soft skills to build confidence and initiative.
This year 250 students will gain labour and soft skills to start transforming their future. Next year, we aim for 300 students. In a decade more than 20,000 students in 1500 courses will make our Institute self-sustainable. Students' success will ripple through industries, businesses, families and the economy in general. Concepcion can become a place where youth stay, lead, and thrive, instead of feeling they must leave to survive. Your support can help make this future possible for hundreds mor
