We are humbly requesting the assistance of all well wishers, be it individuals, organisations and companies for the flood victims in the Lower Shire region, in districts of Chikwawa and Nsanje. It can be in the form of money, clothes, groceries, tents, learning materials and technical assistance. People have been displaced, houses have fallen, road networks disconnected, their reserved ffods washed away. The flooding of major rivers in the lower shire region is displacing people from their homes affecting their livelihoods and their daily living. Over 500 people are affected in the Districts of Chikwawa and Nsanje, school going children and women are mostly affected with this Disaster.
The project will help the people to get the basic needs of life like shelter, food, and clothes for the mean time until waters are gone and they are able to get settled and find their own means of surviving.
During the sharing of the basic things people will be given lessons on how dangerous is flooding and together with them will discuss ways on what they can do so that next time they should not be the do victims again. After the waters are gone will make sure that people are doing what they promised so that they should not face the same challenge again.
