For us, it is a reason to celebrate to be able to share the effort, dedication and work that we commit everyday in our community; in order to reach more corners of our country and continue to fulfill the dreams of young women, we are developing new alliances with other entities and companies at the national level. As a result of the second semester, our direct impact was 102 young people and indirect 306, with personalized accompaniment to each student and their families.
On this occasion, we would like to share with you the testimony of one of the youngest women who is part of our formation program. Her name is Mayerli Flórez, currently studying Business Administration, thanks to a university scholarship she won for her academic and personal efforts within the organization. Long before graduating, Mayerli told us that the situation at her home was not easy, as her mother is the head of a family of 8 children. So, for her, pursuing a career was a dream and not a possibility. In our training programme, we have learned the importance of teaching to know each other, to forgive and embrace our own stories, to cultivate self-love and to understand that it is possible to transform realities if we open our eyes and hearts.
The young woman commented with joy and gratitude that since she attended our formation program, she has learned to make passes with herself, to understand her mother much more and to improve her relationship with her. She has learned that she is not alone, that she deserves great things, that limits are only in her head and that it is possible to fulfill dreams. Today, she is in her fifth semester of her university career, happy because she is studying what she likes the most. She is an example for many other young people who, like her, aspire to change their reality and improve their country.
At the Women's Cultural Association, we never stop learning and filling ourselves with reasons to continue looking for ways to grow and make an impact on the lives of Colombian women. For this reason, we have only gratitude in our hearts for the infinite support and generosity they have given to us to make the dreams of many girls come true.
