A conservator at Auschwitz
As we enter the third decade of 21st century we wish we could report that genocide had been eradicated from the planet. Sadly it is still here.
At 3 Generations we continue the work we have been committed to for nearly 15 years - documenting genocide. We are pleased to report that our video about the journey of one young survivor of the genocide against the Rohingya minority in Myanmar - Imran's Journey -- is now available on our website. Please watch it. In addition, we have four more survivors' stories from the gencide against the Yazidi minority in Northern Iraq and Syria ready to be released in Spring 2020.
And, finally, we are now completing a short film Preserving The Holocaust, which tells the story of young Polish conservators working to preserve artifacts from Auschwitz-Birkenau, the former Nazi concentration camp. Their efforts serve to refute Holocaust denial as well as to honor the 1.1 million who died there 75 years ago. Our film will be playing in select film festivals in 2020.
While we may not be able to end genocide we are proud to fulfill our mission and document it as it happens so denial of atrocity has no place in history. That is a small vicitory for 3 Generations.

How One Young Man Escaped Genocide
By Anais Rivera | Development & Communications Manager
Since 2017 over a million Rohingya, a Muslim ethnic minority, have been displaced from their homes in Myanmar because of extreme violence and persecution. There are more than 750,000 Rohingya living in refugee camps in Bangladesh. They have had a long history of discrimination, persecution, brutality and denial of citizenship at the hands of the Myanmar government.
A recent United Nations report states that the Rohingya still living in Myanmar face ongoing systematic persecution and a greater threat of genocide than ever. Myanmar has done nothing to dismantle the system of persecution and violence against them and the Rohingya continue to live in the same deplorable conditions that they lived in prior to 2017. There is a lack of accountability for the perpetrators of these crimes and a failure by the government to enact effective legislation to criminalize and punish genocide.
We have just completed a video telling the story of Imran, one young victim of this genocide. He escaped from Rakhine, Myanmar and was forced to stay in multiple detention camps in Asia before finally being granted asylum in the United States.
Your continued support allows us to tell his story and the stories of other survivors of genocide. We invite you to watch his story and visit our website www.3generations.org for more updates on this and all of our current projects.

3 Generations Heading to Europe to Gather Stories
By Jane Wells | Executive Director and Filmmaker

Mass Grave at Bergen Belsen
2020 will mark the 75th Anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi Concentration Camps.
A small team from 3 Generations is heading to Europe to film at the camps and meet some of the last living survivors who have yet to tell their stories. We are honored to have this opportunity to retrace the footsteps of the allied soldiers and soldier filmmakers who recorded the atrocities as the Russian, British and American forces found as they liberated the camps.
We hope to bring new stories and fresh perspective on these atrocities in 2020. One goal is to create material that will speak to young audeinces who may not be familiar with the reality of the Holocaust.
We thank you for your past support of our work with survivors of genocide and we hope you will consider supporting our on-going work to document the stories of those who have survived.
Over the coming months we will also be launching new video stories of survivors of the Yazidi genocide in Iraq and Syria as well as a remarkable story of a young Rohingya man who escaped the genocide of his people in Myanmar.
