Last week, we had the honor of helping to bring Sidney Bernstein's extremely important film documenting the atrocities committed by the Nazi regime to US audiences. 3 Generations founder Jane Wells brought her father Sidney's film German Concentration Camps Factual Survey to New York for its first theatrical run in North America at Cinema Village, where it ran from January 6th-12th. The New York Times wrote a review ahead of the premiere, saying, "This restoration of 'German Concentration Camps Factual Survey' is an extraordinary act of cinematic reclamation and historiography."
Our organization has also been granted non-theatrical screening rights to the film in the United States, so we will be exploring educational partnerships to begin screening the film at universities and community organizations across the United States.
German Concentration Camps Factual Survey consists of six reels of footage shot in 1944 and 1945 as Allied troops liberated Nazi-occupied Europe. Restored by the Imperial War Museum and distributed by 3 Generations in association with First Run Features, the film provides shocking, uncensored images of the atrocities committed by the Nazi regime during the Holocaust.
