Greetings from Shining Light Beach School!
You might have noticed that our foundation's name has changed. We legally changed the name of the foundation to the Shining Light Beach School Foundation from the previous Ishahayi Beach School Foundation, or IBSF. This change brings clarity and focus to our mission - which is helping educate children in a rural fishing village in Nigeria. So same mission and purpose, different name!
We just completed a successful and fun fundraiser at the Lagos Polo Club. This year at the President's Cup game we were the sponsored charity. Some of our board members attended the event and encouraged the spectators to donate towards our foundation. People were especially excited to sponsor a student! Our guests were able to access a VIP area and enjoy the game of Polo and learn a little bit more about the school. Lagos is a fluid city with various groups of people moving in and out. A recent goal has been to bring awareness to the more steadfast Lagos community. This fundrasier was definitely the start of that journey!
