Your donation is beacon of hope in turbulent time.

By Genet Johnson | CEO

We want to share the story of Yabsera, a 5-year-old orphan boy. His mother died in a car accident, and his father was sick with chronic liver disease; he was hospitalized during wartime and killed due to lack of medication. He lives with his grandmother, raising Yebsera and three other siblings by selling vegetables in the street to survive.

Here is his grandmother’s message, “I appreciate the support given by donors. I feel so happy seeing my grandson go to school as others did. Before the help of the project, he was staying home while his neighbor's age group children were going to school. I couldn’t afford to send him to school; I barely had food to feed him and his siblings.  I am old, and since the death of his parents, I have a big challenge to support Yabsera and his other three siblings as mother and father.”

Mebriata Children’s Foundation's contribution to pursuing my grandson’s education is the highlight of my life. With all the support for covering tuition fees and purchasing educational materials and clothes, he is also getting a budget for food to gain strength, become healthy, and bring confidence to stand with his classmates.”

“He wakes up early and is ready to go to school. He loves school. The only thing I wish is to see the continuity of the program. Due to a lack of income and severe poverty, I could not send my child to school. Schooling would be a dream for my child. “

Thank you for being a part of this journey. Your support means the world to the children we serve and to us. Having faced the unimaginable adversities of conflict, these children are now receiving the care and love they deserve, all because of you.
