Sustainable plans sustaining the future
By Dom Williams | Founder and Director
Plan Tilapia
The past three months have seen lots of activity with sustainable plans in Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Ecuador and Perú. In Guatemala, our cows in Plan Moo have given birth to 3 calves and the the chickens in Plan Pollo have provided daily income with eggs. Plan Huerto (vegetable gardens) have been started. In Honduras our Plan Tilapia is almost ready for the first catch and our Plan Huerto provided families and the school with much needed income. In Nicaragua Plan Ciber continues as a great business branching out into a restaurant. In Ecuador our Plan Pollo has begun to provide daily income and Plan Moo still sustainas all further education. We are looking into a dried fruit sustainable plan in Perú so keep posted on events there.

2015 - the year of the sustainable income plans!
By Dom Williams | Founder and Director of The Phoenix Projects
Plan Corte
2015 is the year when we really want to start investing in sustainable income plans which will benefit the families for the future. We have already started though there is still a long way to go: by investing in chickens (Plan Pollo) there will be daily eggs in the household and extra income; similarly with Plan Moo - fresh daily milk and years of subsequent calves which will become milk-producers themselves (if they are female - if they are male they are sold to purchase a female to continue the cycle). Plan Corte, weaving, allows us to purchase large-scale looms which the elderly can use to make traditional textiles to sell in the local markets. Plan Negocio (business) invests in start-up initiatives to bring in income and provide employment.
Currently up and running are Plan Moo in Guatemala and Ecuador; Plan Negocio (business) with Plan Corte and Plan Nixtamal in Guatemala, Plan Estufa in Honduras and Plan Ciber in Nicaragua; Plan Pollo in Guatemala and Ecuador; Plan Huerto (vegetables) in Honduras, Perú and Ecuador; Plan Café in Honduras; Plan Cuy in Ecuador and introducing Plan Tilapia (fish) in Honduras.
Thank you to all our donors who continually help to make this happen and who will make this happen in the future. Remember that on 6th June we are undertaking The Phoenix Seven Continent Charity Challenge, where you can undertake any fundraising event at home, knowing that fundraisers are being held on the same day around the world. Please do get involved and use this page as your fundraising page - every cent counts!. For more information click here.
Thank you and have a great March!

Sustainability for 2015 and onwards
By Dom Williams | Founder and Director
No more empty fruit baskets
This holiday season we would like to try and raise funds for our sustainable plan initiatives which help the families and the projects by generating income – please see the link at the bottom of the page to find out more on our sustainable plans. By donating now we can start plans to sustain the children’s education, daily food and fruit, local teachers, school materials and much more, well into the future. Please help us avoid empty fruits baskets, broken pencils and deserted classrooms by donating and sharing this month, as you have donated before, and help us sustain their future for years to come.
Happy Holidays
cheers
Help us avoid empty classrooms
Scraps of paper and broken pencils are not enough
The children deserve a better future
