Dear Supporter,
Thanks to your continued trust and generosity, Peace Revival Organization is steadily advancing its work to build the Local Peace Resources Network across Syria — with a special focus on Homs. This network aims to empower local actors and strengthen their leadership in driving community-led peace efforts from within.
Your support made possible the most recent dialogue session in Homs, which highlighted a vital and often overlooked pillar of peacebuilding: local women-led peace resources.
Women at the Heart of Community Peacebuilding
The session brought together a group of women leaders and community advocates who discussed the essential role women play in rebuilding social ties, easing tensions, and helping communities heal from the impacts of conflict.
Local experiences from Homs reaffirmed that women are not only observers — they are key actors who identify needs, resolve daily disputes, and lead initiatives that rebuild trust among diverse community groups.
From Symbolic Participation to Meaningful Leadership
Participants shared their vision for strengthening women’s leadership within the emerging peace network — ensuring their role goes beyond symbolic participation and evolves into active, influential leadership at the core of the network’s structure.
Discussions highlighted the unique strengths women bring as local peace resources:
• mediating between community members,
• supporting vulnerable groups,
• countering hate speech, and
• designing initiatives that respond directly to community needs.
Building a Network Shaped by Women’s Leadership
All attendees agreed that establishing a flexible, women-centered network structure will significantly enhance communities’ ability to overcome divisions and create safe spaces where women can share their perspectives and meaningfully engage in local decision-making.
This session is not just another meeting — it is a strategic step toward building a sustainable peace architecture rooted in women’s empowerment. Their leadership signals a new reality: communities that are stronger, more united, and more resilient in the face of conflict.
You Made This Possible
Your support enables far more than organizing dialogue sessions — it allows us to invest in women’s potential, amplify their voices, and pave the way for community-driven peace initiatives that truly make a difference.
Thank you for believing in the power of communities — especially the women who are leading the way toward a more just and peaceful future.
With gratitude,
