Over the past period, the Syrian Peace Resources Network has continued to convene dozens of peacebuilding sessions across communities. These gatherings bring together youth and women—voices often excluded from civic life—to engage in structured dialogue, mediation training, and trust-building discussions. Each session is a step toward healing, where participants listen, reflect, and begin rebuilding relationships fractured by years of conflict.

In a deeply complex context marked by prolonged challenges, local actors have needed more than parallel efforts. They needed a shared national framework — one that brings civil society together around a collective vision, coordinated action, and community-led leadership. This is where the Local Peace Resources Network has emerged as a transformative space.

The network is not merely a coordination umbrella. It is a dynamic, collaborative platform that reconnects local organizations, initiatives, and peace practitioners, transforming fragmented efforts into a collective force capable of real, tangible impact.

In a short period of time, the network has demonstrated strong momentum and growing trust among local actors, reflected in clear achievements:

• 194 peace activists and practitioners registered on the network platform

• 77 local peace resources engaged, including organizations, associations, and grassroots initiatives, working across key sectors:

  • Peacebuilding and Social Cohesion (17)

  • Youth Support and Empowerment (15)

  • Support and Empowerment of Women (12)

  • Environment and Climate Change (9)

  • Education and Peace Education (7)

  • Transitional Justice and Support for Families of the Missing (6)

  • Support for Persons with Disabilities (6)

  • Entrepreneurship and Economic Empowerment (5)

These figures represent more than numerical growth. They reflect a maturing civil society ecosystem — one that is increasingly connected, collaborative, and capable of exchanging knowledge and expertise across regions and sectors.

Step by step, the Local Peace Resources Network is becoming a national backbone for Syrian civil society — a structure powered by local actors, rooted in their expertise, and guided by the belief that sustainable peace is not imported, but built from within communities.
