Dear Supporters,
Thank you for your continued support and belief in community-led peacebuilding in Syria. Because of your generosity, the Local Peace Resources Network continues to move forward in strengthening collaboration and coordination among Syrian civil society actors working toward peace.
Recently, the network held its 18th dialogue and coordination session, marking an important step in its development. This meeting focused on establishing a clear governance framework to guide the network’s work and ensure its long-term effectiveness and sustainability. As the network continues to grow, members recognize the importance of moving from an early stage of expansion toward a more structured and institutional model.
During the session, participants discussed key elements of the network’s future governance system. These included defining shared principles that reflect cooperation, transparency, and collective responsibility; exploring an organizational structure that supports coordination and specialized working groups; and developing inclusive decision-making mechanisms that ensure balanced participation among all members. The group also examined membership processes and ways to strengthen accountability, knowledge sharing, and collaboration within the network.
The discussions reflected strong engagement and commitment from participants, many of whom contributed practical ideas based on their experience in community work and peacebuilding. There was a shared understanding that building a flexible and transparent governance system is essential for transforming the network from a coordination platform into a sustainable institutional structure capable of supporting long-term peace initiatives across Syrian communities.
The session concluded with agreement to continue working together in the coming meetings to finalize the governance framework. This effort will help ensure that the network remains inclusive, representative, and effective as a national platform supporting social cohesion and locally driven peace initiatives.
Thank you for making this progress possible. Your support does more than sustain activities—it strengthens a long-term, Syrian-led pathway toward peace, cooperation, and resilience in communities affected by years of conflict.
With gratitude,
