Dear Supporter,
We are pleased to share the latest progress in our ongoing efforts to build Syria’s Local Peace Resources Network—a community-led initiative facilitated by Peace Revival Organization, dedicated to strengthening resilience and advancing locally driven peacebuilding.
During our most recent consultative session, we brought together a wide range of local peace actors, including civil society organizations, volunteer groups, and community initiatives working with families of the missing, supporting survivors of detention, and promoting transitional justice.
The discussion highlighted the essential role these actors play in mending social fractures, restoring dignity, and addressing the deep wounds left by years of conflict. Participants emphasized that truth-seeking, documentation, psychosocial support, and legal awareness are vital foundations for rebuilding community trust.
The session also provided space for exchanging insights on the challenges faced by families searching for answers about their loved ones, as well as the complex needs of survivors reintegrating into society. Attendees underscored the importance of locally rooted mechanisms that uphold justice, accountability, and recognition.
A key takeaway was the affirmation that organizations working in victim support and transitional justice are central pillars of the Peace Resources Network. Their efforts contribute significantly to social cohesion by addressing grievances, preventing cycles of retaliation, and creating space for collective healing.
Together, participants explored how to design a flexible, inclusive network that keeps these critical issues at the heart of community-led peacebuilding, while improving coordination among actors working in justice, human rights, and family support.
These ongoing sessions reinforce our belief that justice is essential for lasting peace. Empowering local actors who stand with families of the missing and survivors of detention is a foundational step in helping communities recover and move toward a more just and peaceful future.
Thank you for supporting this shared journey toward truth, dignity, and sustainable peace in Syria. Your generosity continues to make this work possible.
Warm regards,
