The Noble Gift support Families in need in Poland

Noble Gift is one of the largest social programs in Poland. Since 2001, thanks to the involvement of Volunteers and Donors, thousands of Families in need, receive wise, tailored help every year.
In Noble Gift, we work all year round to make sure that aid reaches the Families in need in November and December.
How does the Noble Gift program operate?

• recruit and train volunteers who reach and get to know people in need (disabled, sick, lonely, suffering from misfortune etc.) in local communities (all over Poland);
• Volunteers prepare families’ description (situation and needs) and put into the internet database;
• In mid-November (18th November 2023) internet database is open for 4 weeks;
• broad media campaign (November/December) is run to find Donors - people who read stories of needy families on www.szlachetnapaczka.pl<http://www.szlachetnapaczka.pl/>, and prepare dedicated material help for a chosen family;
• In mid-December – (Miracles’ Weekend /16-17.12.2023/) – donors deliver those packages to volunteers and volunteers give them directly to the chosen families – Miracles are happening, and everyone has a Happy Christmas

Only in 2022:

• 12 098 volunteers (local leaders) worked for the program – earlier recruited and trained;
• 15 482 families received dedicated material help;
• PLN 60 million – value of material help delivered directly from donors to the people in need through volunteers during one weekend (so-called Miracles’ Weekend);
• 473 thousand of people engaged in preparing assistance (one donor prepares material help for chosen family together with friends, family, workmates - on av. with 31 other people).

In Noble Gift we are now focusing on media campaign to reach potential Volunteers and on recruitment process.

The success of the entire project and the goals achievable in a given edition depend on this stage that’s why it is the most important in the entire program.

• Media campaign - we start with media campaign to reach potential volunteers – we are preparing: communication, website, graphics, social media campaign and broad media campaign /radio, TV, press/. We want to be visible in many channels in order to reach to people not only in big cities, but also in small villages, where the help is mostly needed.
• Recruitment - all people, who decided to apply for Volunteer position, have a professional interview – we want to know their motivation, we inform them about the program requirements and schedule.

A Volunteer visiting the family talks to them and asks about their needs, things they can’t afford with tight budgets. He or she creates a form with needs, which is placed together with the family description in an online database. The form includes three key needs of the family, which we ask Donors to fulfill in the first place. Among the basic needs are food, cosmetic and cleaning products. Another group are household appliances - only in 2022 donors donated in total: 1134 refrigerators, 433 blenders, 162 dryers. Many times there are beds (sometimes children sleep on the floor or several people sleep in one bed), bed sheets, and towels. Last year Donors funded in total: 271 bicycles, 307 teddy bears and 1,383 books. There are also unique gifts, such as a shower for a lady who uses crutches and couldn’t use bathtube anymore; a tablet for boy, whose dad died of covid and his mother was unable to buy the equipment he needed for school; kitchen furniture for a senior couple, who are taking care for an adult, disabled daughter, use all funds for her treatment and couldn’t afford to change broken cupboards.

Last year the average value of help for one family was 966 USD. Donors have 4 weeks to prepare it, therefore many times they encourage and engage friends, family of colleagues from work and together they prepare material support for chosen family - on av. with 31 other people - and deliver it on a Weekend of Miracles to a special place from which the Volunteer delivers it to the selected family.
