The James Dean Byrd Foundation and the Los Algarrobos School continue their dedication to Environmental Education! Even over the long vacation our summer camp activities kept the school garden alive! Participants planted beans, papayas, and bananas and kept them alive until the rest of our students returned!
Now, a new school year has just started and we have big things planned! This year we are uniting with a local agricultural organization, FOCAZNOM, that will give us monthly workshops about organic food, food tranformation, and environmentally friendly agricultural practices. Our English teacher, Ben, will then provide blinugal follow-up activities! He also plans to present videos and movies with environmental themes and host beach clean-ups! Finally, our science and PE teachers plan to continue our school garden and compost projects. There will be a lot going on and we are very excited!
We are also planning our Environmental Day Fair for June! Stay tuned on our Facebook page and monthly newsletters to learn more!
Thank you so much for your continue support! We look forward to telling you all about our amazing programming this year!
