This project will enable us to take complete primary education in the form of an animated series and games to children living outside the major cities of Pakistan, where quality education comes at a price. Every dollar that is donated will help us reach 20 children. Our goal is to reach half a million children who have otherwise been denied a quality education.
Before the pandemic, there were more than 22 million out of school children in Pakistan, the majority of whom are girls. Out of the children that do go to school, 66.8% drop out after completing their primary education and even these children display signs of stunted learning as more than 40% are unable to read a simple sentence in their native language or do a simple division problem.
Taleemabad provides edutainment (education that is entertaining) in the context of daily life and in the local language, tackling one of the most pressing problems - attracting children to learning. For households where children are working during the day and have to contribute to the household income, Taleemabad provides the opportunity to learn in a flexible manner. The app focuses on teaching according to learning levels which helps us remedy stunted learning levels.
With the world's second-largest population of out of school children, Pakistan has so much unlocked potential. Through this project we intent to unlock the potential of half a million children, providing them with a platform to launch themselves into a more prosperous life for themselves and for those around them.
