Progress Pikinini is a charity that is determined to help the children of Vanuatu to have a brighter future. We distribute basic school items to the children and schools in need. Many schools lack the basics for education. As a COVID- free country, they were hit badly by a category 5 cyclone in April and they have had no outside help due to COVID. We have the opportunity to raise much needed funds to help a child the the basics for school
With over 90,000 children across the 82 islands that make up Vanuatu, there isn't enough schools for the amount of children. This is a major issue in rural areas. School buildings, water and sanitation are ongoing concerns at the majority of school. School is only compulsory for the first six years of primary education and if families aren't able to afford school fees, children are removed from school and are expected to work. Many early school leavers are girls.
Progress Pikinini working with the Vanuatu Ministry Of Education will be able to help children stay in schools, and help create a safe environment for those seeking an education.
The project will allow children to receive an education and leave them in school for a longer period of time. Progress Pikinini will be able to help schools with resources that are desperately needed in rural schools, as well as provide much needed help to the teachers with resources and workable classrooms to provide a safe and healthy learning environment. We want the children to excel at school and look to find a better way to combat poverty throughout their childhood.
