We are offering for 600 Romanian disadvantaged women from rural areas, group therapy sessions in order to improve their mental health, informative medical sessions about reproductive health, lessons about the legal ways to protect themselves from domestic violence and, for those who need it, free hairstyling look changing sessions. We bring precious information, gifts, joy and we ask them to change their attitude, to be courageous and to value their person.
Domestic violence is on the increase. Every two days a woman is killed because of violence. The women don't know their rights and don't know how to act legally, when they are abused. Romania is on the 1st place in Europe, as regards the number of cases of sexually-transmitted diseases, with increased incidences in women aged between 20-34 years. Most of the women from rural areas neglect their own person for lack of funds, they rarely go to medical check-ups and many of them fall into depression
Education will help women to protect themselves, legally, from domestic violence and save their lives. Understanding how important is for them and for their children's future to be healthy, physical and mental, women will take care of them better, will protect and treat themselves from sexually-transmitted diseases, their self-esteem will increase and the attitude in life will be different, the life decisions will be the right ones.
600 women will be educated to protect themselves by requesting a restriction order against aggressor, whom they can resort to, in case they fear for their own life, which are the effects of domestic violence on children. Also, we will explain them what effects have untreated sexually-transmitted diseases for their life, will teach techniques of both psychical and body relaxation, so as to maintain good mental health and will offer them a free hair styling session to increase the self-esteem
