"Teaching from the heart"

By Margarita Bejarano | Teacher

"The teaching that leaves a mark is not the one that is done from head to head, but from heart to heart" (Howard G. Hendricks).

I am happy to greet all our sponsors, it is a pleasure to be able to share again our activities and highlights with our children.

Despite unforeseen events and difficulties, we managed to start a new year. All our teachers are working in their respective centers and with the required number of students. This year, we have some schools that have more children, due to the overpopulation of students in the communities and because of how famous the program has become.

Thanks to the workshop we had in January, we are applying the different ideas to give better stimulation to our little ones. Since we have 4 year olds, we must give them adequate fine motor stimulation to develop their skills to the maximum. An expert teacher in this is Roselia Canux, who works in the community of Patzicía in one of its villages. Thanks to her good work and the follow-up she has given to those who continue in the program during the preschool stage, she has achieved that their progress is noticeable in the first grade of primary school.

We worked on two weeks of adaptation and the general topics for these first months, such as: colors, lines, rules of coexistence, weather, identification and tracing of their name, among others. Also, we are doing the assigned activities of the "Star Books" that give us a preview of the topics we will see during the year.

This year, we will implement "school gardens" again, more formally. Now, we have the help of Elizabeth, who will be in charge of helping us to make our own garden together with the children, to continue learning different topics and help them to be more independent. Also, due to the different changes in the economy, we are helping them to find solutions to have what they need at home.

Thanks to the help of people with a big heart, we were able to obtain support for the schools that needed it for this year. However, we still need your contributions to continue helping these communities. Thank you so much to those of you who are already doing this, you can't imagine how essential it has been.

Please continue to support us with your contributions so we can continue to improve the future of our children.

Greetings to all our readers and donors, I look forward to writing new developments in our next report...
