Access to cancer specialists is extremely limited in rural Ghana, causing late diagnoses and poor treatment outcomes. This project will establish tele-oncology services that connect rural patients with oncologists through video consultations, remote screenings, and virtual follow-ups. Your support will bring lifesaving cancer expertise directly to underserved communities.
Most rural communities in Ghana have no oncologists and limited cancer care services. Patients must travel long distances-and often cannot afford to-to receive specialist consultations. This leads to late detection, treatment delays, and preventable deaths.
This project will equip rural clinics with tablets, internet access, and telehealth tools, enabling patients to consult oncologists remotely. Nurses will assist in capturing symptoms, providing basic screenings, and ensuring follow-up care. Tele-oncology makes early diagnosis, expert guidance, and continuous monitoring possible without requiring long-distance travel.
Tele-oncology will reduce late-stage diagnoses, improve treatment outcomes, and expand access to specialist care for thousands of rural patients. Over time, it will strengthen Ghana's cancer care system by bringing expert support to communities that need it most.
