Disaster Aid USA is responding to massive fires which have burned already over 1 million acres. Numerous communities are affected and we are in touch with local authorities, Rotary clubs, Churches, and partner NGOs. Our Domestic Response Unit trailers are loaded with debris removal tools, chainsaw and other disaster related equipment.
The Texas fires have destroyed hundreds of homes and businesses in the Lone Star State, leaving a path of destruction larger than the size of Rhode Island and forcing a nuclear plant to take precautions. A map shows the fires, which have killed at least two people, located throughout the state's rural Panhandle area with some blazes crossing into western Oklahoma. The fires are burning northeast of Amarillo, a city of over 200,000 people.
Our Teams are trained to help the homeowners and community leaders respond after the fire has passed. Handling debris, clearing streets or lots, and helping homeowners sift through their property as needed. Also providing immediate emergencies supplies to the communities as the Team Lead determines. Being flexible and changing mission as needed is one of Disaster Aid USA specialities.
As time passes switching from response to recovery, to rebuild is a must and Disaster Aid has 13-years experience of moving from one phase to another as needed. Our teams will work through the phases as long as Volunteers and Donations are provided.
