Miracle Flights provides free commercial air transportation to children who are battling rare medical disorders and would otherwise lack access to specialized medical care. This project will fund a month of flights to ensure no child suffer when the right treatment is just a plane ride away.
There are nearly 7,000 documented rare diseases, and sometimes there may be only 1-2 doctors with the expertise to successfully treat the disease. The families we serve are in desperate need and financial stress to ensure their child has access to specialized medical care. Insurance coverage for treatments of rare diseases is limited. Private insurance plans and no state or federal programs will cover the cost of travel to distant facilities. Miracle Flights fills that gap and provides hope.
Miracle Flights has the cure for distance. Providing free commercial air travel to families suffering from a life-threatening disease, allows them access to the distant medical care they so desperately need. Miracle Flights coordinates about 700 flights every month and are committed to the patient's entire treatment journey. Whether the patient needs 1 flight or 100 flights, Miracle Flights will be there every step of the way.
This project will help fund one month of flights for families and ease the financial burden of air travel, so they can use their limited resources to focus on getting the necessary care they deserve to extend and improve their lives.
