This project had to be paused due to the Covid-19 emergency.
Our team has been working remotely since March 2020, and our biggest priority has been providing essential resources and services to our women and communities in this time of need.
However, we are finally in a position to begin gearing back up for this project. We need it now more than ever.
Quarantine has exacerbated our already horrific situation on gender violence. Our government has only slowed its response. On the weekly, news reports fill our screens as more and more women are disappeared or killed by their domestic partners. The State of Emergency Declaration we have been so fervently demanding for two years, now resembles more of a State of Disaster.
Our young girls and women are growing up in a world that is normalizing violence against women. We must believe that our work can fight back.
This October, we will be re-activating this campaign. Our mission is big, but the cause is bigger. Young girls in Puerto Rico will grow up supported and inspired to believe themselves capable. Our young girls will understand the power they hold within their truest selves.
We hope that you can continue to be a part of this journey.
