The Impossible Poster project, initiated by Taller Salud with funding from GlobalGiving, aimed to create a powerful visual campaign to inspire thousands of people in Puerto Rico. We used art and messaging to raise awareness on key issues such as health equity, gender justice, and community empowerment. Through this project, we aimed to motivate and mobilize individuals and communities across the island to participate in transformative social change.

The main objectives of the Impossible Poster project were as follows:

  • Inspire Action: Use visually compelling posters to encourage people to participate in Taller Salud's community initiatives.
  • Raise Awareness: Highlight the importance of health equity, gender justice, and community development, particularly in marginalized communities like Loíza.
  • Foster Community Engagement: Promote participation in workshops, discussions, and volunteer opportunities.
  • Amplify Impact: Reach a broad audience across Puerto Rico through strategically distributing posters and digital media.

As part of the project, Taller Salud organized community engagement events where residents could discuss the issues highlighted in the posters.

  • Workshops: We hosted ten workshops in Loíza and surrounding areas, reaching over 300 participants.
  • Public Discussions: The posters served as conversation starters at community forums on health, gender justice, and social change.

Following the campaign, we saw a 20% increase in participation in our community programs, particularly in workshops focused on gender justice and health advocacy.

The overwhelmingly positive response to the project's visual aspect reaffirmed the power of art in mobilizing communities and conveying complex messages in an accessible way. We plan to integrate art into our advocacy and education efforts for future projects.

The Impossible Poster project inspired thousands of individuals across Puerto Rico to engage with Taller Salud’s mission and take action on health equity and gender justice. The campaign increased awareness and fostered a deeper connection between the organization and the community, particularly in Loíza.

We are grateful to GlobalGiving for supporting this initiative and to the artists, community members, and partners who made this project successful. Together, we are making the impossible possible.
