Show Josephine and Jack a bit of love this Spring! Help us raise money towards running our courses helping people with learning disabilities learn about the rights and responsibilities that go with having a relationship and - even better - it might help them find love!
We believe that people with learning disabilities have the same rights to love who they want and how they want, as anyone else - or not- as they choose. With that right comes responsibilities, knowledge and an understanding of consent. Very little support exists for people with learning disabilities to understand and explore appropriate behaviour, body awareness, understanding consent, staying safe online, the right to an acknowledged relationship, contraception, pregnancy and sexual health.
We empower people with learning disabilities to make informed choices in life and love through creative learning by promoting and developing work with our cloth figures Josephine and Jack with both groups and individuals in the North East, working across the UK through licensing and leasing our figures, advocating for the rights of people with learning disabilities and supporting them both individually and collectively to access those rights.
We'll spend the money raised continuing and developing our valuable work with people with learning disabilities across the North East and beyond. Our evaluations show a 12% improvement in participants' feeling of well-being as a result of being on one of our courses.
