In April , The Reporter for Kids launched a special report " I want to liveParental rights, new drugs and best interests: Boy with leukemia faces multiple difficulties fighting disease" The report highlights his resilience in facing both his illness and the healthcare system, while also exploring society's understanding of the "best interests of children and youth." In addition to the written report, Jiayuan’s story was turned into a short documentary film titled Cracks in life: The Story of Taiwan’s First Minor with Blood Cancer Fighting for Medical Rights, which presents his perspective on dealing with the recurrence of his illness, challenges with family, and facing death.
After the release, the film resonated with many schools ans hospitals across Taiwan. Over 100 organizations actively requested to screen the film at their locations, and nearly 300 online readsers left messages to show their support for the boy.
