This project will enroll 81 (34 males and 47 females) identified displaced and economically disadvantaged out-of-school children into secondary school in Benue, FCT and Katsina States of Nigeria, and also pay their school fees for two years.
According to Universal Basic Education Commission of Nigeria, "the population of Nigeria's out-of-school children has increased from 10.5 million to 13.2 million and again the highest in the world." Poverty, displacement from crisis and inaccessibility of schools are some of the reasons children are out of school. Effort made by government through Universal Basic Education is not very successful due low coverage of schools among other challenges. Education is important for economic development.
ISEA will enroll the identified 81(47 females and 34 males) disadvantaged out-of-school children in secondary school, sew their schools uniforms, provide pair of sandals, text books and note books and pay their fees for a duration of 2 years. These children have been identified and documented in FCT (19), Benue (43) and Katsina (19) states of Nigeria. #TheHELPProject focuses primarily on the displaced children, orphans and those that low income of parents or guardian has kept them out of school.
By educating these disadvantaged children, we are preparing additional crop of leaders who will drive the social, economic, political and technological development of Nigeria. Equipping these children with basic formal education will prevent potential unemployment and crime in the country. This project will help to bring out of poverty families of these disadvantaged children.
