Eight months after the unprecedented floods in Thessaly Region, Emfasis Team continues its urgent Relief Initiative providing relief, support & empowerment to the affected population.
Our Social Service is conducting weekly missions in more than 10 inaccessible and previously uncharted areas in Magnesia, Larissa, Trikala & Karditsa, implementing psychosocial advisory sessions.
Supported by volunteers from the local community, proceeds in site cross-checks, recording of needs as well as in-person deliveries of food items, hygiene products, cleaning supplies and supermarket vouchers.
Since February more than 350 individuals have been assisted during 20 Mobile Support Unit Shifts.
At the same time and given the geographic range of coverage, we have focused on building partnerships with local actors and entities so as to multiply our impact and manage to reach the most marginalized communities.
Having said that, more than 39 bodies, ranging from municipal entities to informal volunteer teams, our now part of our network.
Looking forward, we aim at ensuring the necessary resources so that we can meet more and more remarkable needs such as medical equipment for communal health centres, partial pay of fixed costs for single-parent families living under poverty and electronic devices.
