This monsoon provide safety to the slum dwellers

At El Shaddai Charitable Trust, we remain committed to bringing hope and improving living conditions for children and their families facing extreme hardship. One of the ways we do this is by distributing tarpaulin sheets to slum dwellers, helping them create safer and more secure shelters for themselves and their loved ones.

Our outreach workers regularly visit slum communities across North and South Goa, connecting directly with families who are living in fragile, makeshift conditions.

Through these visits, we are able to identify those most in need and provide tarpaulin sheets that offer essential protection from harsh environmental conditions such as heavy rains, heat, and strong winds. Outreach workers visited around 50 families and distributed tarpaulin sheets and blankets.

For many families, these tarpaulins are more than just temporary coverings. They bring a sense of security and dignity, helping to shield their homes from the elements and making everyday life a little more manageable. Alongside this, the support extended through our initiatives reassures families that they are not alone in their struggles.

In Goa, thousands of children and families are living on the streets and in slums, exposed to harsh weather conditions with only makeshift shelters and little or no access to food. Amid these difficult circumstances, and as an urgent humanitarian response to protect them from rainwater seeping into their fragile shelters, El Shaddai distributed rainproof tarpaulins along with hot meals.

The shelter protection, meals, and warmth provided were more than material assistance; it became a source of hope during a time of deep hardship, made possible through your generous support. This tarpaulin was not merely a cover; it helped preserve families’ dignity, eased their daily suffering, and offered a sense of safety in the absence of even the most basic living necessities.
