Thrive Philippines: School Meals Change Lives

Your generosity is making a profound difference for children across the Philippines. As fuel prices continue to surge nationwide, the cost of food, transport, and basic ingredients has risen sharply. This places enormous pressure on families already living with daily uncertainty. In this environment, your support ensures that children begin each school day with the nourishment they need to stay healthy, focused, and ready to learn.

From January to April 2026, Thrive provided 10,620 daily school meals to 635 children across our partner schools in the Philippines. These meals have helped keep attendance strong even as families face rising food costs and shrinking household budgets.

For many parents, the steep increase in fuel prices has meant fewer meals at home, smaller portions, or skipping food altogether so children can eat first. Thrive’s school meals have become a vital bridge, helping close the hunger gap and ensuring that students have at least one reliable, nutritious meal each day.

This impact came to life during a recent visit from a group of donors who traveled to the Philippines to meet the children and communities they support. Standing inside classrooms, watching students share meals, and hearing stories from teachers and local mothers who prepare the food each day offered a powerful reminder: these meals are not just nutrition — they are hope, stability, and a lifeline for families navigating rising costs.We hope you can visit our schools as well in future trips. As 2026 begins, we reflect on the incredible strides your support made possible in 2025. Thanks to your generosity, hundreds of children in the Philippines started each school day with a full stomach, ready to learn, laugh, and grow. Every meal, every smile, and every engaged classroom was made possible by your partnership.

In 2025 Thrive provided daily meals to 637 children for 173 schools days across the Philippines. All in all, we served 110,201 school meals that helped keep school attendance above 91% and ensuring children could be present and learning every day.

Four partner schools now receive daily meals, all supported by local mothers who prepare, cook, and serve food each day.

Looking ahead, 2026 holds even greater promise. We aim to feed 4,000 children daily, strengthen local supply chains to ensure consistent, nutritious meals, and lay the foundation for our long-term vision: reaching 30,000 children with daily meals by 2030.
