By Samuel Akaraonye | Founder/CEO

Every person deserves dignity, opportunity, and the right to thrive—regardless of physical ability. Help 100 Physically Challenged in S/East Nigeria (5433) is a passionate, people-centered project initiated by the Sam Onyemaechi Humanitarian Foundation (SOHF) to restore hope, empower potential, and improve the quality of life of 100 physically challenged individuals across South-East Nigeria.

This project was designed not merely as an act of charity, but as an investment in the forgotten talents, dreams, and resilience of a marginalized group. Sadly, despite our deep commitment and strategic planning, we have not yet received any donation under this specific project to fully activate its impact.

Project Objectives

To provide mobility aids (wheelchairs, crutches, prosthetics) to 100 physically challenged persons.

To offer skill acquisition training in tailoring, phone repairs, computer literacy, and small-scale businesses.

To foster inclusion and reduce discrimination by promoting awareness campaigns in rural communities.

To establish a support network and sustainable micro-financing scheme for beneficiaries.

Progress Made So Far

Despite financial limitations under this project, we have taken a bold step forward:

We have successfully trained the selected individuals in various skill acquisition programs, including tailoring, bead-making, soap production, and phone repairs.

However, financial constraints have significantly limited our efforts to empower them with startup kits, tools, or seed capital to turn their training into viable income-generating ventures.

This gap between training and empowerment remains one of our greatest concerns—and it is where we need urgent support.

Challenges Experienced

1. Lack of Funding for Empowerment: As of this report, no donation has been received specifically for this project, leaving a critical gap in our ability to provide tools, mobility aids, and seed capital.

2. Rising Demand: The number of requests from physically challenged individuals continues to grow.

3. Emotional Strain: Our team faces emotional stress from unfulfilled promises to hopeful beneficiaries.

4. Logistical Limitations: Poor road infrastructure in rural areas hinders outreach and delivery.

Our Prospects and Hope for Impact

We may not have received donations yet for this campaign, but we are not discouraged. Our optimism remains strong, because:

The first 100 beneficiaries have been trained and are eager to begin their journey toward self-reliance.

We have the structure and partnerships ready to implement this project fully once funds become available.

We have the heart, the passion, and the community trust to make this project a resounding success.

All we need is a spark—your support—to light up the path for these resilient souls.

A Heartfelt Thank You

We take this moment to sincerely thank all our past donors who have stood with us in other projects. Your generosity has transformed lives and brought smiles to many faces across Nigeria.

To GlobalGiving, we express our profound gratitude for the platform, mentorship, and consistent support that makes it possible for grassroots organizations like ours to connect with a global family of change-makers.

Your efforts and encouragement fuel our passion and deepen our commitment to reach the unreached.

A Final Call for Compassion

Behind each number in our project title is a name, a face, and a heartbeat. Like Chiamaka, born without legs, who dreams of becoming a fashion designer. Or Ifeanyi, who lost his limbs in an accident but wants to start a phone repair shop.

Their dreams are valid. Their lives matter. Let us not stop at training them—let’s empower them.

Conclusion

This project is not just about charity. It’s about justice, inclusion, and restoring lost dignity. While we await our first donation under this campaign, we remain hopeful. We believe that with your support, we can turn these dreams into realities and rebuild lives with love and purpose.

Warmest regards
