At the Sam Onyemaechi Humanitarian Foundation (SOHF), we believe in creating a world where everyone, regardless of physical ability, can thrive and live with dignity. In Southeastern Nigeria, physically challenged individuals often face barriers in accessing education, healthcare, vocational training, and community support.

The “Help 100 Physically Challenged in S/East Nigeria” initiative was created to provide essential resources, skills, and empowerment opportunities that allow these individuals to lead independent, productive, and fulfilling lives.

Project Activities During This Period

During this reporting period, the project team has focused on:

• Community engagement to identify and reach physically challenged individuals in target communities • Assessing needs for assistive devices, rehabilitation support, and skill-building programs • Preparing vocational and empowerment sessions to help participants generate income and achieve self-reliance • Planning logistics and support structures for when funding becomes available

Although direct funding through the platform is still pending, the team has worked tirelessly to lay the groundwork, ensuring that the project can be implemented smoothly and effectively once resources are received.

Little by Little Fundraising Campaign (17–20 March)

We are excited to inform our supporters that the Little by Little GlobalGiving fundraising campaign will run from 17th to 20th March. This campaign offers a critical opportunity to directly impact the lives of physically challenged individuals in Southeastern Nigeria, while matching funds remain.

Funds raised will help to:

• Provide assistive devices and adaptive tools to enhance mobility and independence • Support vocational training, skill development, and rehabilitation programs • Facilitate inclusive community activities and empowerment workshops • Expand outreach to ensure that more physically challenged individuals can benefit from the project

Every contribution during this campaign, no matter how small, helps transform lives and promotes dignity, inclusion, and empowerment.

Challenges

The project faces several challenges:

• Limited funding – Essential for assistive devices, training materials, and program logistics • Community access – Reaching physically challenged individuals in remote areas requires careful planning and support • Sustainability – Ensuring long-term impact through mentorship, skill development, and community integration

Despite these challenges, our commitment to uplifting physically challenged individuals remains unwavering.

Gratitude to Our Supporters

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all donors, advocates, and partners who believe in the potential of every individual. Your encouragement and support make it possible for physically challenged persons to lead dignified, empowered, and independent lives.

We also thank GlobalGiving for providing a platform that connects compassionate supporters with projects like ours, allowing us to expand our social impact and empowerment initiatives.

Next Steps

Once funding is secured and the campaign concludes, we will:

• Begin distribution of assistive devices and rehabilitation support • Conduct vocational training and empowerment sessions • Track and measure the impact on participants’ independence and livelihood • Scale the program to reach additional physically challenged individuals across the region

Every donation helps us break barriers, create opportunities, and empower individuals to thrive despite physical challenges.

Closing Reflection

Supporting physically challenged individuals is not just charity—it is a commitment to inclusion, dignity, and social justice.

During the Little by Little campaign (17–20 March), your support can help provide mobility, skills, and opportunities that change lives for the better.

Together, we can empower 100 physically challenged individuals in Southeastern Nigeria to live with hope, dignity, and independence.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Sam Onyemaechi Humanitarian Foundation (SOHF) Empowering communities. Transforming lives.
