Dear Esteemed Supporter,
Across Southeast Nigeria, many physically challenged individuals wake up every day battling hunger, discrimination, poverty, and health complications. Their struggles are silent. Their pain is often invisible. But their hope remains—for a better life, for dignity, and for people who care.
At the Sam Onyemaechi Humanitarian Foundation (SOHF), we stand as a bridge between their pain and their possibility. We remain committed to ensuring that no physically challenged person is left behind, especially in these trying times.
Our Mission: Turning Food Into Medicine
Through our advocacy campaign “Help Us Turn Food Into Medicine for the Poor in Nigeria,” we champion access to nutritious, affordable, and healing food for the most vulnerable.
Mission Statement
Our mission is to champion food justice by ensuring that underserved communities have equitable access to healthy, affordable, and nutritious food. We advocate, educate, and empower, creating sustainable pathways that restore dignity and strengthen community resilience.
“Because every meal can heal.”
This mission inspired the vision for the SAMONY Wellness Cafeteria — a food bank designed to nourish:
physically challenged individuals
people living with chronic illnesses
low-income families
elderly persons
children suffering from malnutrition
This is not just feeding.
This is healing.
This is restoring dignity.
My 50th Birthday Mission: A Covenant of Compassion
As I celebrate my 50th birthday, I have made a personal vow:
To feed at least 1,000 households with nutrient-dense meals and to launch the SAMONY Wellness Cafeteria.
This is my thanksgiving to God.
My commitment to humanity.
My gift to the people who need hope the most.
But I cannot do this alone.
We need partners.
We need donors.
We need compassionate hearts like yours.
GivingTuesday – December 2: Stand With Us
GivingTuesday is a global day of generosity. This December 2, we humbly invite you to join us:
Support 100 physically challenged individuals
Help us feed the poor and nutritionally vulnerable
Stand with us in launching the SAMONY Wellness Cafeteria
Empower our December and January outreach efforts
A season of hope is here again.
Let’s feed.
Let’s heal.
Let’s lift people out of despair — together.
One meal can heal. One donation can save a life.
Be the miracle someone is praying for.
Our Reality: Financial Hardship & Zero Donations
This season has been extremely difficult.
We have faced:
zero donations for a long period
escalating food prices
increased pleas for help
severe financial strain across all our programs
Yet, we remain unshaken in our mission.
A Small Seed of Hope — $0.45
Despite these challenges, we are deeply grateful for every act of kindness.
Recently, we received $0.45 on GlobalGiving.
It may seem small, but to us, it is a reminder that someone still believes in our mission.
Every seed matters.
Every drop counts.
From small beginnings, great miracles are born.
Our current GlobalGiving balance is $0.45.
We are trusting God — and kind-hearted people like you — to help this seed grow into a harvest of hope for the physically challenged who depend on us.
What We Are Planning (December – January)
1. December Outreach — “Feed to Heal Mission”
We aim to provide freshly prepared, nutrient-rich meals to physically challenged individuals and their families.
2. SAMONY Wellness Cafeteria (Start-Up Phase)
We are working toward establishing a sustainable food bank where food becomes medicine.
3. January Relief & Empowerment Program
We plan to distribute food packages, nutritional supplements, and household support after the Christmas hardship period.
4. Ongoing Home Visits & Care Support
For bedridden, elderly, and disabled persons who rely solely on our assistance.
Our Prospects & Vision Ahead
With the help of generous donors, we hope to:
Feed over 1,000 households annually
Establish a permanent SAMONY Wellness Cafeteria
Support rural disabled communities
Provide continuous nutritional therapy for chronic ailments
Train families on affordable, healthy meal preparation
Build a long-term, sustainable food justice system in Southeast Nigeria
