Youths in the refugee hosting districts of Uganda who drop out of school have no life skills. There are a number of nursery, primary and secondary schools in the region both private and government owned who need uniforms. The demand for school uniform is high and few tailors with skills exist in the refugee and host communities of Arua. This project will therefore provide support for training 10 youths out of school on making school uniforms and tailoring machine maintenance and provide startup.
Youths in the refugee - hosting districts of West Nile face a number of challenges, especially those who drop out of school and have no life skills and no knowledge of financial literacy. There are a number of nursery, primary and secondary schools in the region both private and government owned. Therefore, the demand for school uniform is high and few tailors with skills exist in the refugee and host refugee communities of Arua.
The project will provide training for the youths who will gain tailoring skills to be able to maintain sewing machines of their own and for those within their communities and provide tailoring services to their communities which will be a form of employment for them.
The girls will be able to gain life skills that will provide permanent source of employment for them and become self reliant to support their families economically and socially.
