Nepal is being reshaped by the younger generation demanding justice and inclusion, yet many girls still face discrimination and exclusion from opportunities. This March, Global Girl Project aims to raise $2,500 to train 100 girls through the Global Girl Leadership Initiative. Partnering with Rise Up Foundation Nepal, we equip girls with leadership skills, and support to lead community action and shape a more equal future. Your donation helps girls lead change now.
In Nepal, millions of girls from marginalised rural communities leave home to study in cities like Kathmandu, often without support, confidence, or leadership opportunities. Harmful practices such as child marriage and gender-based violencecontinue to limit girls' voices and choices. UN Women cites 35% of women get married off before the age of 18, pushing them out of school. Without investing in girls' leadership, communities lose the opportunity to sustain youth led change from within.
Our three-month leadership programme will train 100 girls in Kathmandu with our partner, Rise Up Foundation Nepal. Here, the girls learn to build confidence, public speaking, and project skills. The project culminates in a girl-led community event, designed and delivered entirely by the girls on issues like child marriage and girls' education, turning learning into action.. Your support turns girls' voices into action and strengthens youth-led change for years to come.
Over the long term, 100 Nepali girls will gain lasting confidence, leadership skills, and education pathways - reducing their vulnerability to child marriage and early school dropout. Graduates receive education grants to stay in school and join a lifelong network of 1,500+ alumni. As they continue leading community initiatives, they shift family and community attitudes about what girls can do. This project shows that investing in girls' leadership transforms entire communities.
