This project will equip 128 vulnerable youth in Nigeria with practical tailoring and fashion design skills to build sustainable livelihoods. Through hands-on training, mentorship, and starter kits, participants gain the capacity to earn income, support their families, and become self-reliant. The program targets unemployed youth, especially young women, helping them transition from vulnerability to productivity and dignity.
High youth unemployment in Nigeria leaves many vulnerable young people without income or direction. Limited access to vocational training pushes them into poverty, crime, or exploitation. Many lack practical skills to secure jobs or start businesses. Young women are especially affected, facing financial dependence and limited opportunities to build independent, stable futures.
In collaboration with BAM Tailoring and Fashion Institute, this project will provide structured training in tailoring and fashion design, including sewing techniques, garment production, and entrepreneurship. Participants receive hands-on instruction, mentorship, and startup kits such as sewing machines and materials. The program also includes business training to help graduates launch and sustain their own fashion enterprises.
Graduates will achieve financial independence, reduce poverty in their households, and contribute to local economic growth. The project builds a skilled workforce, reduces youth unemployment, and empowers young women to become self-reliant. Over time, trained participants can mentor others, creating a ripple effect of empowerment and sustainable community development.
