This project is a training model for rural women victims of violence in Bolivia that outlines a path for empowerment and achieving independent business leadership. Combining capacity development with greater management responsibility and market access. While providing emotional support and encouragement to improve the lives of your families and break the cycles of poverty in your community.
Rural women in Bolivia typically lack formal education and technical skills and are excluded from economic opportunities. Our community has one of the highest rates of domestic violence, women are financially dependent on their husbands. Therefore, there is an unequal power dynamic between the genders; Women have little choice over their lives and finances, so they are subject to the decisions of their husbands.
We provide technical training to women who have been victims of abuse. We train them technically in pastry and baking trades, simultaneously we train them in quality control, business administration, leadership, market knowledge, financial support and emotional support so that these women can become successful entrepreneurs, strengthen their confidence and achieve independence. economically, so that they can support their families and offer their community an alternative future to poverty.
Helping women earn sustainable income will give them financial independence and a stronger position in the home, personal confidence, increase family wealth and benefit members of the wider communities. Trained and empowered women will teach and inspire others, leading to greater awareness of women's rights and changing expectations of women. This will lead the way for future generations to have more freedom in their personal and financial lives.
