WOW 5 putting agricultural training into practice

By Tim Flynn | AMV Coordinator

During April 2023 three of our WOW 5 members joined the month long training by Thrive at Organics for Orphans in Kitale. Duncan, Emmanuel and Pharis enjoyed very much the training. They participated well and were very eager to learn. On graduation they all received much praise from the Organics team for their commitment and passion for learning.

Immediately after coming from the training the three young people wished to share with the rest of the WOW team what they learnt on the course. The first thing they did was construct a keyhole garden and plant vegetables in this. Later in early July they constructed a second such garden. They also made a number of double digging seed beds in the garden and planted a range of vegetables. Already the young people have enjoyed consuming some of the crops which have already been harvested.

On behalf of WOW members we would like to thank all those who have contributed to this project and made a difference in the lives of these young people. Thank You!
