New year of the Rooster greeting
New year of the Rooster greeting

Dear Friends,

We are taking steps to learn from feedbacks collected from EEF funded educators.  Attached is a preliminary report.

ITIE2016 consists of 4 sub conference/workshops.

Beijing workshop focused on cultural innovation, EEF selected 20 teachers on humanity subjects to participate.

Shenzhen conference focused on makerspaces and design and high-end manufacturing. Guangzhou conference focused on makerspaces and social education. Wuhan conference focused on makerspaces and school education. EEF selected 26 people of school management, 36 teachers on science and technology, and 13 students participating in makerspace contest to participate.

The feedback rate of Beijing workshop is 40%, with the e-feedback form 25%. For Shenzhen, Guangzhou, and Wuhan conference, total feedback rate is 52%, with the e-feedback form 21%. The attached report analyzes the e-feedback forms (around 20% feedback rate). Only together with the paper forms, the statistics would be complete.

Nonetheless, here is our take aways:

EEF teachers and school management gained basic understanding of the concepts, methods and practices of makerspace and maker education, also got clues of what training they should get further. In future conferences or trainings, we will invite more school library/makerspace teams to showcase best practices and to exchange with EEF schools, to satisfy such needs from EEF teachers and school management.

Before the year of the Monkey closes, may we wish you Happiness and Success in the coming year of the Rooster!

EEF Team
