Dear Friends,
As reported a few months ago, educators in some schools took up the challenge to participate in a bit of robotics. While this may not be new to large cities along the coast, for most teachers in rural China, this is new territory.
In joining a program hosted by DFRobot, educators from four schools applied and got kits that their respective Maker team delve into learning Arduino, control logic and programming. While the progress is understandably slow, some got farther than others.
Two schools submitted photos about their learning spirits, other submitted video to share. I can only pick a few photos to share with you in this report as videos not allowed on this platform yet.
If any of you is interested in seeing a short clip of a robot running through a guided pattern on the floor, please click on the link provided. If you had problem viewing it, please post a note with your email address so that I can find another way to share.
My colleagues and I will encourage them to be experimental, break out the mode from preparing for their GaoKow (matriculation) exam mindset, let their imaginations move them and drive their learning to become innovative and bring their imagination to life.
Thank you for your support in helping them along on this journey,
john
