This project aims to train 2,500 teachers online in digital skills to improve student learnings in the Caribbean.
The level of K12 education is very low in the Dominican Republic. As a result, students are in last place in the world ranking in math, science and comprehensive reading. This project will impact 2,500 teachers from 100 schools in rural areas by providing a full year of digital skills training program.
Ubicua is a continuous learning platform that will provide personalize digital skills trainings to teachers. It works with artificial intelligence, is data driven, mobile friendly and powered by Open EDX. The trainings will be focus on 3 academic offers: Productivity Tools, Learning Methodologies, International Certifications. This will give students the learning skills they need to succeed in this digital era.
The project will train 2,500 teachers, impacting around 200,000 students from rural areas. These students will learn the skills they need to get better jobs, create new companies and rise out of poverty, which will provide health, education and well being for their communities.
