The project intends to train more 20 youth and women in welding and Metal fabrication (15 Males and 5 Females), 15 in soft skills training (5 males, 10 females), 10 females in knitting and weaving 15 in designing and tailoring, (5 males and 10 females), 25 in saloon and hair dressing (5 males and 20 females) and 15 youth in computer skills training who have had low education levels and leave the poorest conditions of life. These vocational skills will have a very big impact on society.
Due to the continuous problem of unemployment caused by inadequate vocational skills and the increasing population in Bunyoro sub region as a result of the oil and gas sector, BUYODEA is committed to training and sensitizing the youth on poverty alleviation through vocational and business development skills BUYODEA designed vocational and business development skills training programs at a small scale basis, but still few attend due to financial constraints.
The project shall undertake the following vocational and entrepreneur training skills welding and metal fabrication, Knitting and weaving, designing and tailoring, computer skills training and soft skills training which have a very big impact on society and the environment There fore reducing on the high levels of unemployment and improving on the standards of living of the youth, women and girls.
The project will have following long term impacts: 1. Increased self-reliance and skills among 100 youth, women and girls in Hoima District 2. Increased number of youth self-employed and generating income in Hoima District 3. Reduced un employment among the youth, women and girls in Hoima district 4. Reduced poverty levels among the youth, women and girls in Hoima district 5. Increased access of jobs by the youth, women and girls in the oil and gas industry
