Early detection saves lives, yet many nurses in Ghana lack specialized training to recognize early signs of cancer. This project will equip nurses with the skills, tools, and knowledge needed to identify cancer early and guide patients toward timely diagnosis and treatment. Your support helps strengthen Ghana's healthcare system and ensures more lives are saved through early intervention.
Cancer is often diagnosed at late stages in Ghana because frontline healthcare workers-especially nurses-do not receive enough specialized training in recognizing early symptoms. Without this training, patients are frequently misdiagnosed or referred too late, leading to preventable deaths and higher treatment costs.
This project will provide nurses with practical training on early cancer signs, screening methods, referral procedures, and patient counseling. Workshops, training manuals, and on-site sessions will empower nurses to identify cancer early and guide patients to the right care promptly.
Skilled nurses will help reduce late-stage cancer diagnoses, improve survival rates, and strengthen Ghana's overall cancer response. Over time, trained nurses will become community champions for prevention, education, and early detection, benefiting thousands of patients nationwide.
