Challenge

Girls in rural Nigeria often leave school early due to poverty, child marriage, or pressure to work. Many lack practical skills to earn income and face unemployment. This cycle of poverty reduces their chances of independence and contributes to high dropout rates. Education without practical training leaves girls unprepared for real job markets, while lack of training alone keeps them out of formal education. Without both, many remain trapped in hardship.

Solution

The project will combine classroom learning with vocational training, keeping 1,500 girls in school while giving them practical skills. Training areas include tailoring, mechanic, ICT, and catering, which are in high demand in local markets. Each girl will receive tools, training materials, and mentoring. This will help them stay in school, graduate with skills, and begin small income-generating activities. The program creates a pathway from school to self-reliance for disadvantaged girls.

Long-Term Impact

With education and practical skills, girls will be able to complete their studies, secure jobs, or start small businesses. This reduces early marriage and unemployment, while strengthening household income. Educated girls often reinvest in their families, improving health, nutrition, and schooling for the next generation. In the future, communities benefit from a new generation of skilled, educated women who can contribute to economic growth and social stability.
