By Rachel Kramer | Executive Director
2024 is an exhilarating year for Conservation through Poverty Alleviation, International (CPALI). Our founder, entomologist Dr. Cay Craig, passed the torch to a new Executive Director and Board Chair to accelerate programs that improve lives and restore ecosystems. Our lead wild silk artisan joined us in New York City from Madagascar for a major industry trade show to showcase stunning textiles. And together, we're working to refine our mission and goals to further strengthen local livelihoods, enhance biodiversity, and share Madagascar arts and culture with global audiences. With your generous support, we now have 400 farmers participating in our program, 17 skilled local artisans and staff employed in our wild silk and raffia workshop, and five species of endemic silk moths in our rearing system. Thank you for your generous support that makes our programs possible!
