Dear Friend,
Happy Thanksgiving! During this season, I'm so grateful for you and everything you've done to help youth with disabilities in India. I just want to say that your gift has meant so much to people who are often overlooked and marginalized because they have a disability.
Today, your gift shows that people like Raja are valued and loved. Raja was affected by polio at a young age. As a result, he must use a wheelchair to get around. His siblings used to tease him and even said that he would end up begging on the streets.
In India, many of the students come from poor families and because of their disability, the stigma is they can't do anything or pursue a career. Thank you for changing lives and helping people like Raja.
Your gift gave Raja a chance to succeed in a computer-related job. After graduating from our computer course, he found a job at a multinational company writing computer programs. Thanks to the computer training, he became the most educated and highest earning member in my family. Today Raja has a good job in the government and he is able to happily provide for his wife and two children. He has also earned enough money to build a house for his family.
Raja and many other students with disabilites are thankful that you helped them to succeed. Thank you!
Have a great Thanksgiving,
John Sparks
