This project will transform the lives of 200 children and their families in La Perimetral, Cartagena's most vulnerable area, by providing 15,000+ nutritious meals annually, offering educational and creative workshops, and empowering mothers through parenting and entrepreneurship training. By addressing immediate needs and fostering long-term change, we aim to break the cycle of poverty and violence, creating a more resilient and prosperous community for generations to come.
In La Perimetral, one of Cartagena's most vulnerable areas, children face grim realities. Food insecurity, domestic violence, and gang activity are daily struggles. Most kids lack proper nutrition and grow up in environments where violence is normal. This toxic mix stunts physical and mental growth, trapping them in poverty. Without help, these children risk falling into crime or perpetuating abuse in their own families, continuing the cycle for another generation.
We aim to break this cycle by holistically transforming 200 children's lives and their families, addressing immediate needs and ensuring long-term sustainability: 1. Our Breakfast Club serves 15,000+ nutritious meals yearly, preparing kids to learn. 2. We offer academic support, reading programs, and creative workshops for intellectual and emotional growth. 3. Mothers learn effective parenting, conflict resolution, and entrepreneurship, creating safer homes and promoting financial independence.
Over the next two decades, we envision a transformed community. Children from our program will be equipped to finish school, pursue higher education, and find stable jobs, becoming role models for positive change. Mothers will develop stronger parenting skills and achieve financial stability, strengthening families and the community. Our holistic approach builds a resilient, self-sustaining future. By breaking the cycle of poverty and violence, we're creating a brighter tomorrow for Cartagena.
